Please
note:
Typical
Wireless Range will be dependent on
the following:
| |
- Transmit Power of
your Access Point or
Wi Fi Router
- Outdoor Obstructions
(trees, lakes,
buildings, RV's, hills,
etc.)
- Type of building
material (metal,
aluminum, wood,
sheetrock)
- Mounting position of
antenna
- dbi Gain of the
outdoor antenna
- Length of coax cable
connected to the Wi Fi antenna
- Client device
receive sensitivity, and
transmit power
|
The stronger the transmit power of
the access point, the better your
wireless signal will carry, and
provide a more enjoyable Internet
surfing experience for your
customers. The Transmit Power
on typical Linksys, Dlink and Belkin
Wireless Access Points/Routers,
is usually in the 15dbm range, or
32mW Transmit Power. This
means that connecting a high gain
antenna will help your range, but
will not provide the increased
distance and signal strength that
say a 200mW, or even 500mW Access
Point will provide. To get the
best range from your outdoor
antenna, please ask us about
upgrading your Linksys or D-Link
Access point.
