Application
The steel outdoor enclosure is designed to provide protection,
indoors and outdoors, against dust, dirt, oil, and water for
items such as: pneumatic or hydraulic instruments, transformers,
and junction wiring. These enclosures are for use in areas such
as shop floor, process controls, agriculture operations, food
and beverage operations where they are subject to frequent high
pressure hosing, dirt, grime and generally wet conditions. A
120VAC Aluminum Mounting Plate is included for mounting hardware
internally, with two sockets and a terminal block for easy
wiring
Construction
The outdoor steel enclosure is made from 14ga. hot rolled steel.
All seams are continuously welded and each enclosure comes with
four 10-32 weld nuts. Grounding studs are provided on the inside
of the box and door, and wall mounting back brackets are welded
on the top and bottom outside. The enclosure door is sealed with
a one piece neoprene gasket and is secured to the enclosure with
a continuous stainless steel piano hinge on one side and
stainless steel door clamping hardware on three sides.
Standards
The outdoor steel enclosure is built to the requirements of NEMA/EEMAC
type 12 specifications for use with industrial control equipment
in ordinary locations, type 13 for an oil and dust tight
enclosure, and type 4,4X as a water tight corrosion resistant
enclosure. Pole mounting hardware is available as an optional
upgrade.
