Connect this 2.4GHz Outdoor WiFi Directional Antenna,
802.11b and 802.11g
to any of your Indoor or Outdoor Wireless Access
Points. This 2.4Ghz Antenna works great
for connecting two locations wirelessly, sharing
data, or using a VoIP wireless link. With
the appropriate coax cable (not included) you
will be able to connect this 2.4GHz antenna to
any Linksys Wi-Fi, Cisco, D-Link, Netgear
Wireless, ZyXel or other Wireless Access Point
for increased signal strength, and extended
802.11 coverage.
For
the most reliable signal strength, and extended
range, please power this antenna, with an access
point that has more then 60mW of transmit power.
For assistance in planning your wireless
network, please contact us anytime,
(516) 214-0321.
|
Please note:
Typical
Wireless Range will be dependent on the
following:
| |
- Transmit Power of your
Access Point or Wi-Fi Router
- Outdoor Obstructions
(trees, lakes, buildings,
RV's, hills, etc.)
- Type of building
material (metal, aluminum,
wood, sheetrock)
- Mounting position of
WiFi antenna
- dbi Gain of the outdoor
Wi-Fi antenna
- Length of coax cable
connected to the 802.11 antenna
- Client device receive
sensitivity, and transmit
power, signal booster
|
The stronger the transmit power of the
access point, the better your wireless
signal will carry, and provide a more
enjoyable Internet surfing experience
for your customers. The client
device must also be able to receive and
send the signal back, but a higher
transmit power device will make it that
much easier for a connection to occur.
The Transmit
Power on typical Linksys, Dlink and
Belkin Wireless Access Points/Routers,
is usually in the 15dbm range, or 32mW
Transmit Power. This means that
connecting a high gain antenna will help
your range, but will not provide the
increased distance and signal strength
that say a 200mW, or even 500mW Access
Point will provide. To get the
best range from your outdoor antenna,
please ask us about upgrading your
Linksys or D-Link Access point.
