Wireless Site Surveys

A wireless site survey is a physical survey of the customers premises to verify the best possible locations to install Access Points and Bridges where the wireless network will be installed. A site survey is the first step in identifying ideal locations for the installation of Access Points, as well as where the external antennas will be mounted.  Our technicians can identify trouble areas in advance, such as metal closets, power lines, and other forms of RF interference that will hamper the strength of the wireless network.

When installing a Wireless Network in your home or business, it is necessary to use specialized testing equipment to get a true sense of where the wireless network is in need of additional Access Points.  GNS Wireless carries a full line of indoor, and outdoor 802.11a/b/g antennas to improve the signal strength of your wireless network.  Cement Walls, Metal doors, Metal Roofs, Microwaves, Kitchen Appliances, Power lines, Wire mesh walls, and even people can create havoc on a wireless network.

After our technicians examine and survey your premises, we will draw up a simple diagram of your location, this way to better understand the layout and overall structure of how your wireless network will be installed.

Wired/Wireless Network Installation

GNS Wireless can install your wired or wireless network, test it and verify its operation. Upon completion, every installation is tested for assurance of trouble-free operation.

The installation phase is the most time intensive part of the project due to the fact that some locations have limited or difficult access to areas such as walls and ceilings.  Ladders or lifts may be required to gain access to ceiling areas. Using the site survey report as an installation guide, the installation will proceed smoothly. The Access Points and Antennas will be installed in the facility using the marked up drawing made after the site survey.   If the location requires antennas be mounted on the roof, accessibility will be provided to the installers at that time.

All cable runs installed will be tested prior to the installation of the Access Points. GNS Wireless offers custom coax cable lengths available for customers.  After completing the installation, testing for proper operation and wireless coverage will take place.  Contact us today, and let us install and configure your wired and wireless network.
