802.11N, 5GHz Wireless Hotspot Package. Includes 5GHz, 2×2 MIMO Sectorized antenna, dual Lightning Protectors (NM/NF), dual 5ft. coaxial cables, and pole mount hardware.
Use this wireless hotspot package to reach clients up to 1 mile away, (unobstructed LOS and Client antenna required) when you don’t need to cover the entire 360 degree area. This antenna directs its signal to 120 degrees of your park or marina, and has the ability to be tilted downward to reach even more clients. For the best signal strength please connect this antenna to at least a 1000mW Access Point. The stronger the transmit power on the access point, the better performance you will see from the antenna.
The strength of the signal depends on the weakest link between the two devices, meaning that if your clients have a integrated wlan card in their laptop, with no external antenna connected to it, they will not be able to connect to your antenna at a mile away. With this antenna, and a standard laptop card, you can count on getting about 1500 feet away before loosing the signal. Typical range at a Marina or Campground will be on average 500-1000ft. Ipads/Tablets and phones will have a weaker signal then newer laptops. For increased distance ask us about wireless repeaters.
1000ft. distance is based on un-obstructed line of sight to the end user, and powered with a minimum of 1000mW Access Point. Range will also depend on quality of the end users WLAN card, obstructions and external interference. Metal siding, concrete, trees, and other obstructions will reduce the quality of the wireless network.
This antenna works great for start-up WISP’s, small RV-Parks, small Campgrounds, or Marinas looking to provide coverage in one direction. The included 120 degree sector antenna can be mounted at your main office, and pointed in the direction of your campground, or Marina. If your main office is located in the center of the area you wish to cover, you can install three sectorized antenna for full 360 degree coverage.
If your AP is not in an ideal position in order to meet the 25 foot requirement, please take a look at our Power-over-Ethernet adapters, (POE). Most access points today will include POE, and will be able to be installed outdoors next to the antenna to minimize coaxial cable and maximum signal strength.
Note: For maximum distance these antennas require Line-of-Sight to the end user in order to establish a secure, reliable connection. If you have obstructions then please take a look at our pre-packaged NLOS (Non Line-of-Sight) Wireless Hotspots. For increased range at RV parks, Campgrounds, or Marinas, we recommend using more then one antenna system for reliable coverage, often called a wireless repeater. Power is required at all locations.
