So long are the years of using the blue and black Linksys WRT54G, which can still be found on Amazon, or other market places.  That old router was a staple in most wireless networks for years, and at almost 10 years old, is still used for firmware flashes, and DDWRT.  In fact, we still keep one on the shelf for keepsake.  It had the best wireless range for a wireless router, and was reliable for home or office use.

The wireless network routers with the best range depending on where you need access to WiFi. We recommend going with any of the newer 802.11AC wireless routers for indoors.  These routers cover the majority of small to medium-sized homes, are reliable, and are easy to program.  The biggest advantages of AC Wireless routers are that they offer better range and maximum theoretical speeds.  You can sometimes get better n-grade performance for less if you stick to the old standard, though ac is future-proof and a/b/g/n is not. In short, nothing other than ac will do.  For more information, read our 802.11AC feature.

GNS Wireless also offers pre-configuration on all of the wireless routers we sell.  This allows you to install and use the wireless router "out of the box", with technical support included.  Contact us for more information about buying a WiFi router.
