Description

GNS-1155AX · Preconfigured complete link
5 GHz Long Range Wireless Bridge Kit
Connect a remote building, camera network or outdoor facility without trenching a data cable. A paired 23 dBi antenna system gives you a dedicated, high-capacity connection between two locations.
Operates up to 3 miles with close to full capacity when clear line of sight, adequate Fresnel-zone clearance and favorable RF conditions are available.
- ✓ Two outdoor radios, paired and configured by GNS
- ✓ Low-latency connectivity for voice, video and data
- ✓ PoE power supplies and pole mounts included
- ✓ U.S.-based help with selection and installation
*Maximum capacity under favorable conditions. Actual throughput and latency depend on distance, channel width, interference, alignment and network load.
An Ethernet connection through the air
Put your network where the work happens.
The GNS-1155AX extends an existing wired network to a second location over a dedicated 5 GHz wireless link. Connect your office to a warehouse, carry camera traffic from a remote yard, or feed a separate access point at an outdoor facility.
Each end uses an integrated 23 dBi directional antenna. Compared with the smaller 20 dBi panels in the GNS-1153AX, these antennas concentrate the signal more tightly for links that need additional antenna gain. Clear line of sight and accurate alignment are essential.
GNS supplies the radios as a matched, preconfigured pair. Mount each unit, connect power and Ethernet, then align the antennas toward one another.

Capacity for a working network
Built for more than sharing an internet connection.
01 / BUILDING TO BUILDING
Keep remote teams connected.
Extend network access to a warehouse, workshop or outbuilding for business applications, file transfers and internet access.
02 / CAMERA BACKHAUL
Bring the video back.
Carry traffic from a remote camera switch to your recorder. Size the link around the combined camera bitrates and other network traffic.
03 / OUTDOOR FACILITIES
Feed a remote network.
Connect a marina service building, campground distribution point or industrial yard to the main network. Add local Wi-Fi where guests or staff need coverage.
High capacity, with room to tune.
802.11ax operation and selectable channel widths let the link be configured around your site. Wider channels support greater capacity when spectrum is available; narrower channels can be a better fit in crowded RF environments.
Responsive voice and video.
A dedicated link avoids the repeated wireless hops of a multi-hop repeater path. For latency-sensitive applications, channel planning, signal quality and available capacity matter as much as the headline speed.
One bundle. Both ends.

Technical details
GNS-1155AX at a glance.
| Package / topology | Two-radio, preconfigured point-to-point wireless Ethernet bridge |
| Wireless technology | 5 GHz · IEEE 802.11ax · 2×2 MIMO · TDD |
| Maximum capacity | Up to 1.5 Gbps; shared wireless capacity, not 1.5 Gbps simultaneously in each direction |
| Antenna gain | 23 dBi integrated directional panel at each end |
| Channel widths | 20 / 40 / 80 / 160 MHz; subject to permitted channels and configuration |
| Ethernet, per radio | 1× 100/1000/2500 Base-T PoE input; 1× 10/100/1000 Base-T secondary port |
| Power | 802.3at PoE input; included compatible AC PoE supplies |
| Secondary port PoE | Software-controlled output, up to 13 W; verify device compatibility and power budget |
| Outdoor housing | IP67-rated metal enclosure |
| Operating temperature | −40°F to +149°F (−40°C to +65°C) |
| Network features | Transparent bridging; 802.1Q data and management VLAN support |
| Management | Web interface; dedicated 2.4 GHz local management radio |
| Distance planning | Up to 3 miles with close to full capacity and clear line of sight; subject to alignment, path clearance, spectrum availability and site conditions |
| Latency | Low-latency application design; no fixed latency figure or site performance guarantee |
A 2.5 GbE radio port does not guarantee 2.5 Gbps over the wireless link. To exceed 1 Gbps on the wired path, the injector, cabling and connected network interfaces must also support the required rate. Available frequencies and transmit power follow the installed regulatory profile.
Choose by the job
Where the GNS-1155AX fits.
| Bridge | Main reason to choose it | Link planning |
|---|---|---|
| GNS-1153AX ↗ | Smaller 20 dBi panels for a compact building-to-building installation | Shorter clear-line-of-sight projects |
| GNS-1155AX | Larger 23 dBi panels for additional antenna gain on a 5 GHz link | Longer paths with clear line of sight and proper alignment |
| GNS-5460-LR ↗ | A 60 GHz alternative when 5 GHz congestion is a concern | Clear paths within the recommended working distance |

Before you install
Common questions.
How far apart can the two locations be?
The GNS-1155AX operates up to 3 miles with close to full capacity under favorable conditions and clear line of sight. Working distance depends on Fresnel-zone clearance, mounting height and interference. Send both locations and the desired bandwidth to GNS so we can check the path before recommending a distance.
Is the kit already configured?
Yes. The two radios are paired and preconfigured by GNS for point-to-point operation. Installation still requires mounting, power, network connections and antenna alignment.
Will it deliver 1.5 Gbps of internet speed?
1.5 Gbps is the maximum wireless capacity under favorable conditions, not a guaranteed internet speed. Your internet service, wired interfaces, channel settings and site conditions determine usable performance. The two radios do not double this capacity.
Can I use it for cameras and VoIP?
Yes, when the link is sized and configured for the traffic. Tell us the camera count and bitrates, voice requirements and other expected usage so capacity can be planned with room for busy periods.
Does this provide Wi-Fi coverage at the remote end?
The bridge carries your network to the second location. Connect a separate access point there to provide Wi-Fi service for phones, tablets and laptops.
Does the remote location need its own internet service?
No. The bridge extends the network from the main location. Each end needs local power, and internet access at the remote end comes from your existing service.
Are there monthly hardware fees?
No monthly hardware fee is required to operate the bridge. Your internet service and any optional support or management services are separate.
