Description
The Best Available Solution for Short-Range Wireless Links Through Light Tree Coverage
When a clear line of sight simply isn’t possible, the GNS-5424-HD provides one of the best remaining options for building a reliable 2.4 GHz Point to Point Wireless Bridge.
Commercial 900 MHz point-to-point radios have largely disappeared from the market, leaving very few products capable of maintaining dependable links through light to moderate tree coverage. The GNS-5424 fills that gap by combining high-power 2.4 GHz airFiber radios with 19 dBi dual-polarized directional panel antennas, creating a low-latency, high-throughput wireless bridge designed for challenging environments.
If your wireless path includes scattered trees, light woods, or seasonal foliage, the GNS-5424 may be exactly what you’re looking for.
This bundle is pre-configured, paired, tested, and ready for installation.
Designed for Difficult Wireless Paths
Not every wireless bridge has perfect line of sight.
Many farms, campgrounds, golf courses, marinas, industrial facilities, and private properties simply need to get Ethernet from one building to another—even when a few trees stand in the way.
The GNS-5424 was built specifically for those situations.
Typical applications include:
- Building to building networking
- Farm equipment and grain bins
- Security camera backhaul
- Gate controllers
- Remote offices
- Barns and workshops
- Water treatment facilities
- Campgrounds
- Marinas
- Municipal buildings
- Remote internet distribution
Still Not Sure Which Frequency Is Right?
Choosing the right wireless frequency can make the difference between a fast, reliable link and one that struggles with trees, distance, or interference. Before ordering, take a few minutes to read our Wireless Frequency Guide, where we compare 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz, 24 GHz, and 60 GHz to help you understand which frequency performs best for your application.
Learn which frequency works best for line of sight, tree coverage, throughput, and long-range wireless Ethernet bridges before you buy.

Proven Performance
Every wireless path is different, but our real-world experience has shown excellent results.
| Scenario | Expected Performance |
|---|---|
| Clear Line of Sight | Up to 1 Mile |
| Light Tree Coverage | 1,000–2,000 ft. (site dependent) |
| Moderate Tree Coverage | 500-1,000 ft. (site dependent) |
| Throughput | Up to 500 Mbps |
| Latency | Extremely Low |
Actual performance depends on:
- Tree density
- Tree species
- Moisture content
- Terrain
- RF interference
- Mounting height
If your path includes significant foliage, contact us before ordering. We’ll gladly review satellite imagery and help determine whether this solution is appropriate.
Why Choose the GNS-5424?
High Power 2.4 GHz Radio
Unlike inexpensive Wi-Fi bridges, the included airFiber radios were engineered specifically for long-distance carrier-class wireless links.
Excellent Through Trees
While no 2.4 GHz system can perform like a true 900 MHz link through dense forest, the GNS-5424 performs exceptionally well where many traditional 5 GHz bridges fail.
Light to moderate foliage is exactly where this system shines.
Low Latency
Perfect for:
- IP Cameras
- VoIP
- SCADA
- PLC Systems
- Remote Networks
- Internet Sharing
- Video Streaming
- Wireless Bridge Through Trees
- Non Line of Sight Wireless Bridge
- Wireless Ethernet Bridge
- Point to Point Bridge
- Building to Building Wireless Bridge
- Outdoor Wireless Bridge
- 2.4 GHz Wireless Bridge
- Farm Wireless Bridge
- Wireless Network Bridge
- Wireless Internet Bridge
Dual Polarization
The included 19 dBi dual-polarized flat panel antennas maximize signal quality and help improve throughput in difficult RF environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work through trees?
Yes—within reason. The GNS-5424-HD is designed for links with light to moderate foliage. It is not intended to penetrate dense forests, but it performs well where there are scattered trees or partial canopy.
Is this better than a 5 GHz bridge?
In many obstructed paths, yes. The lower 2.4 GHz frequency generally tolerates foliage better than 5 GHz, making it a strong choice when a perfectly clear path isn’t available.
How far will it go?
With clear line of sight, we’ve successfully deployed links up to one mile. Through light tree cover, we typically recommend keeping links in the 1,000 to 1,500 foot range for the best balance of speed and reliability.
Is this plug-and-play?
Yes. Every kit ships fully paired, pre-configured, and tested before it leaves our facility.
