Why Use a Wireless Bridge?
Think of it as an invisible Ethernet cable.
Instead of trenching between buildings or installing hundreds of feet of buried cable, the two NanoStations communicate wirelessly. Your network connection enters one radio and comes out at the other location.

24V Passive PoE Included

Each antenna is powered using passive Power over Ethernet. Two 24V PoE power supplies are included with the pair, allowing both power and Ethernet data to travel over the cable leading to each radio.

Using a 12V Power System?

These operate from 24V-class passive PoE. For vehicles, solar systems, battery installations or other locations where only 12V DC is available, an appropriate 12V-to-24V passive PoE converter can be used.

Check Signal Strength Right at the Radio

External signal-strength LEDs provide an immediate visual indication of the wireless signal while you’re aligning the two antennas. The signal thresholds can also be adjusted within airOS.

Wireless Bridge FAQ

Does this kit include two radios?
Yes. This is a complete pair consisting of two NSM2 radios for creating a wireless connection between two locations.
Are the PoE power supplies included?
Yes. Two 24V passive PoE adapters are included, one for each bridge
Can I use these radios with a 12V battery or solar system?
Yes, but the radio should not be connected directly to a standard 12V supply. A suitable 12V-to-24V passive PoE converter is needed to provide the proper operating voltage to the NanoStation.
Do I need to purchase separate antennas?
No. Each bridge has its directional dual-polarized antenna built directly into the outdoor enclosure.
How do the external signal LEDs help?
The LEDs provide a visual indication of received wireless signal strength, making it easier to fine-tune antenna alignment while standing at the radio instead of repeatedly checking a computer.
Does a wireless bridge provide Wi-Fi at the remote building?
The bridge primarily extends the Ethernet network between the two locations. If you need Wi-Fi coverage inside or around the remote building, connect a separate wireless access point to the remote side of the bridge.
Do the antennas need line of sight?
Clear line of sight is always preferred for the most reliable wireless link. Trees, buildings, terrain, metal structures and other obstacles can reduce signal strength and performance. Contact GNS Wireless if you’re unsure whether this is the correct bridge for your application.
